book by Willow Rose has me wishing I hadn’t waited so long. This was a great little mystery! Rose is a good writer and knows the basics of the craft. Harry Hunter, (great name for a detective, right?), is a beleaguered cop/detective. His wife is in a persistent vegetative state, his daughter is in trouble with an insidious bully, (unbeknownst to Harry), and he’s on the verge of loosing his job, for doing the right thing. With a keen sense of right and wrong, Harry charges forward to solve the multiple murders and mysteries of this slim volume.Good introduction of characters and setting lay the groundwork for this new series. The chapters are short and the dialogue and prose move efficiently. There’s no gratuitous violence or sexual content and the language is clean. This is a mystery you can safely share with your 14 year olds. Themes included are: bullying, out of wedlock sex and births, critically ill parents, peer pressure and more. This book could easily be used to for family reading and to foster conversations about difficult topics; a worthy choice📚
