I liked that the book started with sock terminology, showing on the photo exactly where gusset is which part is heel flap and which part is heel turn and what section is called instep. All measurements are shown in inches (I got a few books written by British writers that used metric measures), so I wanted to mention that this book is aimed at American audience. I also liked the introduction of fibers describing the pluses and minuses of various fibers used for sock knitting.Then she author presents basic instructions, followed by two sock different sock instructions: basic socks and ribby socks (where the ribbing goes from the top to the heel giving a snug fit). I am not a total beginner but was looking for a fresh since I have not done socks in a long time. I found the instruction easy to understand.Ali Julia review
