McMan is a reliable go-to for those looking for more than fluff with lesbians in it. This novel, the second in which you will pray is an enduring series, is even better than the first. It's the best she has written so far, if you like your fiction: a) Funny (not clownish) b) erudite c) well-plotted d) sharp characterization. This novel deserves more stars than it's getting; hopefully it will find the audience it deserves. Meanwhile, we await the third with bated breath.
